Black pepper Lampong has obtained the Certificate of Geographical Indication because it has a good reputation in the domestic market and also the international market in 2015. The certificate is the legality of the Lampong Black Pepper brand as belonging to the Lampung community whose pepper products have the characteristic taste and distinctive flavor that other regions do not have.

Lampong Black Pepper has a black-brownish with a maximum water content of 13 percent, piperine levels from 3.29 to 4.7 percent, essential oil of 1.14-2.89 percent, and oleoresin 12.8-15-15 percent. The shape is small and dense, but it has a long lasting spiciness with a very strong aroma's.
